Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays! March is a busy birthday month for us. We started out w/ Grandma Fern and Grandpa Oli's b-days. I made G. Fern a purse cake and G. Oli just got a half frosted chocolate angel food cake (I didn't want it getting soggy if we didn't eat it all :-) We still have a few b-days left too! I think we have 6 b-days of just relatives alone in the month! Oh Happy b-day to Dr. Seuss as well :-)

Boys!
Its funny how different boys and girls are, even from when they are little! Its so natural that Jack loves everything boy- LOVES his tractors, cars and throwing the ball and Pey so naturally at that age played w/ more "girly"things...maybe we expose them to the boy/girl things more than we notice...but Jack has had Pey's stuff and his "boy" stuff and still goes to the tractors!
Where does the time go?
It seems the older I get time goes by faster and faster. I don't know where the week goes! For those who don't know I started two jobs in January...which seems to have increased the speed of time! I started working at our local bank two days/week and started working as a consultant dietitian part time. I visit about 9 assisted living facilities in the surrounding area quarterly, slowly I am getting more and more places, its a great job as I can fit it to my schedule. Both jobs are great and have allowed me to get out of my "mommy world" and enjoy some adult time! For me working and being a mom are a great balance, I love being home w/ the kids but do enjoy working as well, of course I wouldn't want to work full time and miss the kids too much. I've learned some things as I went back to work:
1. If I don't write it down it likely won't get done or I'll forget about it...so my "to-do" list is now my friend, I even write in going to the gym
2. The kids grow up too fast so take time to enjoy them and get on the floor to play w/ them- the messy house can wait!
3. Enjoy the time you have w/ your hubby when you can--some days I only see Jas about 10minutes due to his schedule (not counting while we're sleeping!)
4. Its hard leaving a sick baby, but I'm blessed to have a sitter who I know will take wonderful care of them kids when I have to leave for work
5. When you get some "away" time you come back a happier mom
I'm lucky to have had two jobs basically plop down in my lap and both allow me to still have plenty of time to do my most important job- be a mom!

Oh Rudolph!
Peyton received a hippity-hop for G. Mike and G.Lorna this Christmas--this has to be the best Christmas present ever as she STILL uses it! Daily, all day long she hippity hops all over the house on Rudolph (yes she named it even). Rarely do we see her just walk anywhere anymore..she even sleeps w/ it. She LOVES Rudolph. We joke we'll need to bump up her calories due to all the extra energy she expends! I still remember the morning I woke up to a noise and couldn't figure out what is was- well it was just Peyton waking up and hippity-hopping out of her bedroom first thing in the morning!
Peyton seems to be growing up fast and definitely has had a growth spurt lately. All she talks about is going to kindergarten and can't wait, hope she can bring Rudolph :-)

15 months
proceeded to vacuum the house wearing it!
Giddy-up!

Its hard to believe Jack is 15 months old!! He's getting so big in the last few months. He currently weighs 22lbs and is 33in long. He's still little for his age and is finally in the 25th percentile for weight. He's FINALLY sleeping through the night--yeah!! He's working on new words and says about 8-10 that we recognize anyway...although his favorite one seems to be "eeh"! He can sign more and please. He loves to play with his sister, throw the football (or anything that's in his hand), and his tractors are one of his favorite toys. He never stops and runs all around all day! He still loves to eat anything, except for sweet potatoes! He'll run at the sound of water as he loves taking a bath as well, and will generally sit and look at books for good periods of time.
