My little man

Having fun hanging out~

Just wanted to post a few cute pics of Jackson..he's growing up so fast and is so much fun. He started babbling quite a bit and just this past week started pointing at things so he loves to show us what he sees and what he wants! He's so close to walking...I think he could do it if he'd just get braver!! He's just so cute (I'm not biased though!) !!

Nationals

Returning from pulling

The cheering squad/competitors :-)

Yeah!!! We are finally done w/ pedal pull competitions! Yes Brady, Blake and Peyton and the families all headed back up to the corn palace to compete in the National Pedal Pull competition...there were people there from all over the place and some "serious competitors" ...we wouldn't be classified in that group! No one placed this time but everyone did great! I was happy Pey didn't place as the trophies were huge! The first place one was almost bigger than the 4 yr old who won it!! I'll have to add a pic of her pulling when I get one off another camera.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Yes...I told my mom to look excited in this one. The two

We had a little gathering for my mom's birthday last week...here are a few pics from it.

Homecoming 2009

My dad even got to be in the parade!

Jackson wasn't too sure of the parade and got a little scared of one of the marching bands!

Pey on the preschool Nemo float

My mom w/ the preschoolers!

Today was Alcester's homecoming and Peyton even got to ride on a float ...so it was pretty exciting for her, she's been looking forward to it all week. It was a nice day and a good parade. Tonight I'll try taking the kids to the football game...not planning on lasting the whole game of course!

Go SDSU!

Go Jacks!

A group of boys playing on the field after the game (Brady and Blake are in there)

Such spirit!

Brandon and Becky look REALLY excited!

Last weekend the kids & I trekked up to my alumni SDSU to watch a football game, we went w/ my brother's family, my parents and some friends. Jason took off the other direction to attend a Nebraska football game w/ his dad which he's been wanting to do for some time. (right now Jason is at police academy for 12 weeks about 5 hours from here so he spends the weeks away- a little flashback to the way our lives used to be in the Army and why you don't hear much about him right now :-) It was fun to go to the game as I hadn't been up there since I graduated. I even attended kid-less as Jason's uncle and aunt live up there and watched the kids for us....of course it was the time of Peys' life as she loves their kids, especially Jacob :-) Pey has decided they need to be her babysitter all the time...
I think Jackson had a good time too!

10 months

So innocent looking !!

Want one?

Jackson turned 10 months old a few days ago...I can't believe how the time flies and before you know it he'll be one!! Which makes me sad b/c I love the baby stages...although every stage is a lot of fun. Jackson FINALLY has a tooth and another one coming in...didn't think it was ever going to happen. He loves to climb up stairs and walks holding on to things really well, he can also stand on his own for short times. We'll see when he starts walking, Pey walked by 9 1/2 months so he's a bit slower than her--which is fine! His favorite past time is chasing balls around and will do that around the house for quite some time. He likes to eat and will eat pretty much anything. He's still a happy, smiley kid. He can say mama and ba-ba well...no dada yet but we're working on it. He also learned how to clap this month. That's about all on the Jackson update!

We're off to Nationals!

Brady, Blake, Peyton

Corn picture of Mt. Rushmore

I liked the star the best!

Yes you guessed it ...we're off to the National Pedal Pull contest...I'm sure for most not from a small town this is a very funny event to you.. I, as well, could not believe they actually had a national pedal pull contest....but even more unbelievable they have an INTERNATIONAL pedal pull contest. The national contest is held at the same place as state- the Corn Palace. So I did include a few pictures of the corn palace for those of you who have never seen the corn palace before. Once again...Blake received 1st, Brady 2nd and Peyton 3rd so they will all advance (the top 3 go on). They had some tough competition and Peyton even had to compete in a pull off! We were shocked Peyton's scrawny legs did as well as they did. I have a few more pics I'll include later...

Pics from the summer

Hiking at the outdoor campus in Sioux Falls

Here are a few pictures from this summer....my garden was huge and out of control..everything has grown really well and I have gotten A LOT of produce out of the garden. Now the vine plants have literally taken over the garden! The South Dakota heat definitely seems to make the garden grow well.

1st Day of School

Peyton's first day of school was Monday..she had a great time of course. She is in the 4 yr old preschool class this year and will go 3 afternoons a week. She, for the most part, loves school and would like to go every day! Hopefully this continues as years go on. She even gets to ride the bus to school which is very exciting for her and I pick her up after school.
