First Day of School

Yes I'm slowly getting caught up on my pictures and have lots to post--Peyton had her first day of preschool the week Jackson was born. She attends 2 days/week for 3 hours. She really likes school and wasn't hesitant to go at all (not surprising).

Life with Jackson and Peyton

Peyton and her guitar--ready to go shopping!

Proud big sister

Jackson---getting bigger and weighed 6lbs 12oz on Monday

Life with two kids has been busy but good. Jackson is a pretty easy baby so far- he pretty much is awake for a few hours in the morning, sleeps from noon (waking only to eat of course) until about 6/7pm when we wake him up to be awake for a few hours before bed :-) At night he wakes up every 3 hours to eat, just like Peyton did.

Peyton is doing well with Jackson overall, doesn't seem jealous; she has had a lot of changes in her life in the past few weeks so I'd say she's doing good for the most part! She has a lot of distractions with school and grandma and grandpa to entertain her so that has been good for her as well.

Jackson is here!

Yes we had the baby. On Nov. 15th we went in to have a non-stress test and they decided to keep me to induce me. Everything went well- I was in labor about 8 hours and was able to have a VBAC which I really wanted.

Jackson William Meyer was born at 7:44pm, weighed 6lbs 3oz and is 19.5inches long. He has dropped weight (which is normal) and it back up to 5lbs 15oz, so he is really little and of course is swimming in his 0-3mo clothes! He looks just like Peyton when she was a baby except less hair. He's a very sweet baby and really only cries when getting his diaper changed or really hungry. We've of course have had a few rough nights, but are getting a bit more sleep now. We had to stay in the hospital a little longer (came home Monday) as we've had to treat him for jaundice so he's had to be strapped to a bili-blanket for two days in hospital and at home(we didn't know they made them--but its pretty cool) ...we'll have his follow up Monday again. In the next few days I'll update with the story of his birth/more pictures. For now we are loving having a new baby, enjoying every change that comes with a new baby, lack of sleep and all! Peyton loves her brother which is good and wants to be a bit too motherly :-)

Fashion Tips from a Farm Girl!

Fashion lesson for those of you who have never been to a farm or visited a farm:

When you move to the farm you're not as fashionable as you'd sometimes like to be--you have to have farm clothes and regular clothes---as you can see farm clothes consist of anything you can find around the house that somewhat fits!! So it may be your cousin clothes (who happen to be boys)-but they do the job---don't worry we don't leave the farm with these clothes on--but you really don't want your nice clothes getting stinky/muddy :-)

Peyton has been sledding and loves to carry around the cats!!

Road trip

After almost 30 hours Peyton has gone a little crazy :-) Finally South Dakota!

Ready to go!

We are all packed up and ready to go--one last pizza party with Katie and Nate. My dad thought he was funny by bringing his "cow pulling" gloves with in case I went into labor on the road---him and Peyton are all "gloved up"!

Halloween

Peyton's packing help

Yes I'm going a bit backwards in my blog--but I finally found my camera cord...This was Peyton's contribution to my packing- she liked to make a bed out of the empty shelves!

Baby Update

Today I'm 39 weeks and still no baby :-( Last week we found out they think he's pretty small (possibly 5 1/2 lbs)..which would put him less than the 10th percentile when born. We'll see how big he is when he's born..so we got to have another ultrasound and until then we have to go in for non-stress tests to monitor the baby every few days. If he's not born by the 18th (he's due the 19th) they will induce me as my MD doesn't want me going over my due date since he's so small. I know it seems like they should leave him in as long as possible, but if he has interuterine growth failure he may not be getting what he needs from the placenta. So far he still looks really healthy so thats the main priority. Other than that we're getting settled at my parents house for now. I'm still looking for my camera cord to get new pictures uploaded! Hopefully it'll surface soon or I'll buy a new one.

We made it to South Dakota!

So I know I've been behind on posting and this one will be quick! I will try to get new pictures posted tomorrow. We made the trip back to South Dakota on Tuesday...it was an uneventful one (which was good b/c it means I didn't have the baby in the car:-)and we had great weather. It was a long, pretty uncomfortable trip... Peyton did great for the almost 30hr ride, slowed down by a moving truck and very pregnant mom! We have been very busy surprising family and friends (as we didn't tell anyone when we were moving back--so that has been fun). We are also busy unpacking and finding places to stash our stuff (it'll be a miracle if we remember all the places between storage, my parents and grandparents homes that we put everything!) I'm 39 weeks this week so awaiting baby! We miss everyone back in Washington, and I surprisingly miss the "city life" more than I thought I would anyways; Jason and Peyton are very much enjoying life on the farm, its taking a little more adjusting for myself, but its been fun being back, although very cold :-) Peyton will start Preschool on Tuesday so she's very excited for that. She loves doing chores and playing with her cousins and the cats! Will try to get more pics posted tomorrow, depending on unpacking progress!
