Pey's "golden medal"

Team photo and coaches

Kicking in the cold!

Soccer!

Team photo

Hanging out watching Pey play soccer

Peyton played soccer for the first time this year..we went through a variety of seasons during these six games as well as a variety of how much Pey wanted to play. Some games she would play most the time, some games she'd just walk around the field/play in the dirt, and one game she scored 5 goals and was like a new person...I guess that's what you get with 3-4 year old teams!! Many times towards they end of the game they'd have to redistribute the teams as the players kept dropping out..as least Peyton stuck it out until the end even if it wasn't very enthusiastic! She was excited to receive her golden medal as she calls it when it was completed--not sure if we have a soccer star on our hands or not :-)

Garden Upgrade!

I couldn't fit the whole garden in the picture!

Planting the garden

We have greatly upgraded our garden from last year..I may be crazy as I think my dad said the length of the garden was 50 feet...so I will have my work cut out for me--hopefully it will be as successful as my previous gardens in the past..

Once again Pey and I had fun planting the garden...I've had to learn about "farm gardens" as we had to put milk cartons around the plants otherwise they'd be blown to pieces and yesterday put up a fence as the rabbits we're enjoying our tomato and pepper plants...we were a little slow to put up the fence! I'm quickly learning having a "farm" garden is different from the "city" garden I was used to! I guess I don't remember that from we we were little!!

6 months!

Cool dude- we found these sunglasses and he
surprisingly just leaves them on his face!

Yum- squash!

Jackson is 6 months now. He weighs about 16lbs 4 oz...so he's growing fast. He's still smaller than Peyton was at this age but longer than her so he doesn't seem as chubby as she was. He has been eating for a couple of weeks and so far seems to like everything except the bananas. He loves to eat and especially drink water from his sippy cup. He sits up really well by himself now, and seems to be starting to try to "crawl". He's still very social, but lately has had a bit of stranger anxiety. He has to be teething as he chomps down on everything and is a little fussy (which is unusual for him!) He's a busy boy...still doesn't sleep through the night and wakes up 1-2 times/night. I think that's all the new "tricks" he's doing right now!

Road trip to Ames

Natalie

Pey on the pond

I guess this is the napping room (Brandon -my brother & Jackson) :-)

We took a quick trip to Ames to go to my cousin Natalie's home for her high school graduation..the kids did pretty well on the 4 hour drive. Blake, Brady and Pey all had fun playing around the pond at my aunt and uncle's home- surprisingly everyone came home dry!

Fun in the Sun

He looks so little sitting up in the grass!

Sibling love!

It was so nice out today...we had to spend a little time in the sun and let Jackson sit in the grass. Once again Pey is wearing her farm clothes and has been outside w/ Brady and Blake all day so she looks a bit messy!

Chasing Butterflies

Running to catch the butterfly!

She caught Jackson instead...

He doesn't seem to mind though

Pey had some fun today catching butterflies--- and catching her brother as well!

I can sit all by myself!

Jackson showing off his new "trick" of sitting all by himself--now he can see the world at a whole new angle! He does pretty good, but of course still tips over sometimes!

Bathtime

Pey and Jackson have fun in the bath together..here's Jackson in his "big kid" bathtub!

More Circus

How do they teach the elephants to do that?

Circus Time

Wish you could see the crazy 80's man closer :-)

I can't believe we got her to stand by the clown--they creep me out!

My dad, Jason and I took the kids to the Shrine Circus last week...it was a fun time. We got to see tigers- trained by a man stuck in the 80's who Jason couldn't stop laughing at; elephants, ponies, and other tricks. The kids had a fun time and it brought back memories of when we went as kids!

5 months

Jackson is 5 months now (actually 5 1/2 by the time I get to posting this)..He has now taken his first plane ride and did very well with it. He can roll both ways, but doesn't really like to roll much; he's not like his sister who loved to roll across the floor a lot! He can now sit up all by himself. He's still a happy baby for the most part, but I think he's teething as he chomps down on everything he can and is a bit more fussier than usual! We'll find out how big he is again soon at his 6 month appointment. He still wakes up 1-2 times/night, he has slept through the night maybe 3 times so far, but not consistently. He has a lot of fun watching his sister and is very social with everyone.
